Dinner with Africa aimed at supporting the NGO CUAMM Doctors with Africa, an Italian organization developing sustainable ecosystems in collaboration with local communities in Africa.

The event also wanted to raise awareness on the increasing economic opportunities offered by the African continent, in an effort to support the recovery and growth of local SMEs.

Format

Speakers such as Andrea Illy (Illycaffè), Matteo Zoppas (Confindustria), Rapelang Rabana (Forbes’ Africa’s Best Young Entrepreneurs) debated the challenges and opportunities of doing business in Africa. Followed by a gala dinner on the Gran Canal, the event registered the participation of more than 100 invitees representing the Italian business community.

Impact

Dinner with Africa raised funds for more than 400 ambulance transfers to specialized pregnancy center,120 childbirths and training for 5 new midwives. In addition, it engaged 150+ companies in discussions around economic opportunities in the African continent.
